Texas Instruments has introduced a 15-W stereo, true filter-free, analog-input, Class-D audio amplifier. The TPA3110D2 features advanced EMI suppression gate drive technology, which eliminates the need for costly inductors, reducing BOM cost by as much as 50 percent versus traditional Class-D solutions while still meeting EMC performance requirements. SpeakerGuard™ protection circuitry protects speakers from damage by preventing the amplifier from overdriving the speakers or from driving the speakers with DC current. Advanced on-chip click-and-pop suppression circuitry and excellent THD+N performance provide optimal music fidelity in consumer audio applications, including HDTVs, media docking stations, digital radios, sound bars and more.
