I have looked at the TAS5710 and the TAS5716 and can see how the 3D surround processing is done in the 5710 but the datasheet for the 5716 does not show the correct process flow. How do you implement 3D surround on the TAS5716?

Hi, Neil,

The 3D capability of the TAS5710 is better than the TAS5716. I suggest you go with the 5710 if possible.

If you're interested in the 5716 for some other reason, I can get someone to post the method to program it for 3D.

Hi Don,  Sorry for this noise but I was wondering if you know of an available Linux (ALSA) driver for the 570x family of TI audio chips (or any information, such as a compatible chip driver). We are using an OMAP34xx processor, which mates directly through the I2S (audio) and I2C (control) interface. Best Regards, Fred

Hi, Frederick,

No problem, that's what the forum's for!!!!

I am not aware of any linux drivers, but maybe someone else on the community has already done this and would be willing to share with us.
