Hello,

One thing that's lacking across TI's site is a good place to put user-generated source code. Would the Wiki be a good place for that? For example, I'm almost done with an I2C driver to 24xx memory from an MSP430F2xx device. When done it would be good to put it somewhere so that others can use it & improve it.

How about put that in your "My Files". Every member has a "My Files"; very few uses them..

Yes!  The Wiki would be a great place to put code so that others can easily find and improve it!  Perhaps one of the existing pages in our serial communication interfaces category would work the best (is it multimaster?  or does it just use the USCI module?)  By adding a description of its features with some keywords, other users will be able to find it both with the wiki search and external search engines.

this is one of the best reasons to use the wiki.  for example, i posted the 64-bit USB drivers on the USB Driver article.

it's also possible to use the "My Files" area in the Forum.  When you're done with the I2C driver, it might be useful to put them somewhere (my files or wiki-hosted), post a message on the forum,  and create a wiki article.  If they live on the wiki, people can modify the files and the article if they'd like to improve them.

Hello,

The problem with posting it to the "My Files" is that it doesn't make it easy for others to find. The Wiki is better, but needs to be maintained and organized.

One idea that I floated to a few in TI is to make a "Connectopedia" to make it easy for people to re-use code. This would be a site where people can upload code, fill out a structured form including which MSP430 part it works for, which compiler, what the other device is (24AA256 etc) and a brief schematic. The other key is to allow users to assign star ratings / reviews to each entry - this will help both reward those who provide good code, and also make it easier to sort the good from the bad. I think this would greatly enhance code re-use, which makes all of our lives easier.
