dear sir,

Can I use 24V as VIN to produce VOUT smaller than 24 V? I Refer to "UCD92XX digital pwm system controller PMBUScommand reference.pdf ",in page 35, The maximum value of 35H (VIN_ON)  and 36H (VIN_OFF) can reach 31.9688V , but in page 36  The limit value of 55 H (VIN_ OV _ FAULT _  LIMIT) can only reach 15.984v , that is to say when VIN reach to 15.984V, the VIN _ OV _ FAULT _ LIMIT situation will take place. How much maxmum  value of VIN does the ucd9240 support  ? thanks in advance!

best regards!

changling

Hello,

Sorry for the late reply.

By using a custom developed power stage design, it is possible to operate from a 24 volt input.  By “custom”, I mean that an appropriately rated driver IC (and discrete design) would have to be used; not our complementary power stage products (i.e. UCD72xx and PTDxxxxx), which accommodate the intermediate bus voltage range (4.5 to 14 volts).  Additionally, it should be noted that the PMBus specification limits the output voltage setting to a little more than 15 volts (15.9995).

Our design services group could assist with investigating and evaluating a custom power stage circuit for 24-V input requirements if you are interested.

thanks for reply!

We have already finished the  hardware design and PCB layout, we only have  the 12 volt and 24 volt DC power supply (which used in sever) on hand. and the Vout which i need is  more than 12 volt (about around of 14 volt) so want to ask whether there is a better method to realize.if choose 12 volt as VIN ,can it produce Vout by around of 14 Volt ?
