Hi Guys

I am working on a School Class Project and try to build up an 1.1 USB Hub with the IC TUSB2046.

I used the reference design for a Self Powered Hub from TI (Available on Product Site of TUSB2046) without the EEPROM and design my own Schematic (Attachment).

So I tied RESET and EXTMEM to 3.3V, EEDATA to Ground and left EECLK floating.

So my qustion is, do i need the EEPROM with VID and PID or is it possible to run this IC without EEPROM?

I have already build a PCB but it doesn't work and I don't know if the error is the missing EEPROM.

greets

Michael

EDIT:

Problem Solved

Stupid Mistake, forget the transistor and pull ups from 3.3V to DP

IC also runs perfectly without EEPROM, default VID and PID is implemented.

Glad to see that you got your system working.

I was going to tell you that an EEPROM is not needed and that we would need to review your schematic to see if we could ID the issue, but you took care of it - great job!

Good luck on your projetc, Dan
