Hi,

I tried working with the samples provided along with Z-stack (C:\Texas Instruments\ZStack-1.4.3-1.2.1\Projects\zstack\Samples). I started off with GenericApp application. I had loaded CoordinatorEB program onto the SmartRF board evaluation module, RouterEB program onto one of the CC2430EM+SOC_BB and EndDeviceEB  program onto another CC2430EM+SOC_BB.

When I switched on the modules, I dont see anything externally happening (like blinking LEDs. LCD etc).

I dont see anything displayed on LCD as well. LCD_SUPPORTED=DEBUG is present in the preprocessor commands.

Even Z-Tool doesn't detect SmartRF04EB.

Can some one help me out to understand this problem?

Hi adi.

Hmmm in my case, no problem.

you said the download was completed. i think H/W board has no problems...(SmartRF04EB + CC2430EM board loaded on Coordinator EB)

at first all, plz power check..! ( if you use a battery for power on each board)

and then In case of Router, End-device, you said.  SOC_BB means CC2430DB board???? right?

I think  you should do compile the source to RouterEB, End-DeviceEB on case of SOC BB , not Coordinator EB  using IAR compiler 730B version not 750 version .

As you know, SmartRF04EB only supports LCD.

cheers...Adi

Hi,

I am using new batteries, so I dont think it is the problem of power supply.

SOC_BB doesnt mean CC2430DB, it is the battery board which can be used to plug CC2430EM board.

I did used RouterEB and EndDeviceEB  programs for Router and End device respectively.

I am using CC2430EM connected to SmartRF04EB as a Coordinator and CoordinatorEB program is loaded on to that.

I am using IAR workbench 7.5 to compile these programs.

Still the problem exists....

Hi adi

As i know, The Generic default source display on LCD  as followed "Zigbee Coord " "Network ID : XXXX ", xxxx means PANID, and SmartRF04EB turn on Yellow LED.

What happens in your sample board??

If it is not solved the problem not yet, I think it is some another problems..  etc. H/W settings...P3 jumpers on SmartRf04EB and some factors...

Also, you said, the coordinator don't display anything and don't turn on LED

I have not compiled on IAR 7.51 version, I used only IAR 730B. also, As I know, In Z-stack 1.4.3 and application 1.2.1 version, target board supports SmartRF04EB and CC2430DB board in TI's Z-stack user guide..

I don;t know that SOC_BB supports the source code for Z-stack. check it once.

I hope you will solve it as soon as possible.

If your solve the problem and complete the generic application settings  for coordinator, Router, End-device,as you konw, you will start bind process and then test the Gneric sample source's packet using packet Sniffer...

and... using Smart Flash programmar, check IEEE address ( click READ IEEE address)

compare between tha value with flash programmar and CC2430EM beyond IEEE address.

if it's different,  write IEEE address as  the same value beyond CC2430EM module.

Good luck~!

To be precise I am using CC2431 Development Kit (http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/cc2431dk.html).

I had loaded the application from  C:\Texas Instruments\ZStack-1.4.3-1.2.1\Projects\zstack\Samples\GenericApp\ .

I had changed my configuration to CoordinatorEB, RouterEB and EndDeviceEB in IAR workbench and loaded the respective programs in Coordinator, Router and EndDevice. My setup looks like this.

Coordinator  - SmartRF04EB+CC2430EM

Router - CC2430EM+SOC_BB (this is only a power source)

EndDevice - CC2430EM+SOC_BB

I dont seee anything printing on the LCD of SmartRF04EB and LED doesnt blink.

I had compared the IEEE address of the CC2430EM and that is read by flash programmer it  is same.

Am  I missing anything interms of either jumper settings or settings in IAR work bench?

Hoping for the best!!!
