Hello,

i am planning to use this chip, but as i googled, found that several vendors(digikey etc) did not sell the demo bd anymore, it was said to be 'obsolete'. is this product obsolete already, or ti don't made any new demo bd, because i read the old pdf about the demo bd somewhere else, it said the bd has somekind of design mistakes.

actually, i'm gonna make an IDE/ATA/ATAPI listener using this chip. or maybe anyone could suggest me any already made pcb for the chip/already mounted to test?

please correct me if i am in wrong direction.

thank you

Mr. Dani,

Texas Instruments obsoleted the TUSB6250DEMO due to the shift in the external storage market from the parallel ATA interface supported by the TUSB6250 to Serial-ATA, that the TUSB6250 does not support.  As with all TI devices, we have no plans for obsolescence of the TUSB6250.  We have multiple customers continuing to use the device and design it into new products - primarily as a USB-to-Compact Flash interface.

We can provide a unit as a loaner for a period not to exceed 90 days.  In order for us to do this, you will need to send your request to usb@ti.com and provide answers to the following questions:

1) Legal Company name
2) Physical address of company
3) Name of contact at company who will be responsible for the board
4) Phone number and e-mail of contact in #3
5) Intended item to be interfaced to the IDE bus of the TUSB6250
